Sliced Pork Jerky or Bak Kwa as homecoming gift.

Pork Jerkey or BaK Kwa from Bee Cheng Hiang, Singapore Bak Kwa or Pork Jerky , as they call it. Locals of Singapore called this as Bakkwa. A friend of mine shared this to us to give it a taste. Bak Kwa tastes like "Tocino". Pork Jerky was sweet and salty at the same time, but sweetness is taking over the saltiness. Although you can buy these goodies uncut from Chinatown, they have a sliced version that you can take home, sealed in freshness. Key ingredient of Bak Kwa are sugar and fish sauce.  These pork jerkey are vacuum sealed from Bee Cheng Hiang . Instruction how to eat vacuum sealed Bak Kwa or Pork Jerky Bee Cheng Hiang have an online store for vacuum packed Bak Kwa, variants are pork, chicken, and beef. Together with the package, is the instruction how to eat the sliced pork. But since we don't have time to follow the instructions (wink). We just tear the seal and bite this sliced goodies. You can take it home and have it as homecoming gift o

The Journey of a Financial Advisor Part 2

I've been waiting for this day to take the licensing exam from Insurance Commission. It is supposedly last week, but I wasn't able to do so, since my kid has fever. Insurance Commission, United Nation Avenue, Manila I reviewed all night, but I'm a bit frustrated since I wasn't able to finished all the reviewer. I woke up and see all the papers we're scattered on the floor. I'm trying to recall what happened, just then I realized that I fell asleep with the papers on my hand the night. (Sigh) But to start the day with good vibes. I need to start fresh with coffee on the table (wink) and a good breakfast. I have an hour to prepare and start traveling from Mandaluyong to Manila to get to Insurance Commission. I need to avoid rush hour to be late. At exactly 5:58 am, I left home with only one goal in my head. "Pass the two exams, without retaking!". Around 7:17, I'm already at the Insurance Commission, asking the guard how to go on the proc

Six month old babies must haves

Here's one thing that babies must haves, when they reached 6-month old and above. Walker is something that's mandatory, all my kids learned how to walk because of this baby walker. This will also keep the babies busy since there are some cute toys in front of them that's either produces sounds or emits  light. Walker also gives you more time to do some household chores, while keeping an eye on your precious babies. Just don't leave them unattended of course! Plus instead of buying a baby chair, or high chair. Walker also serves as a baby chair where they can have their tiny food bits in the front of them. As you can see on the design, these toy spots in front can be removed and be converted to table. Another baby must haves is play pen. As a mom of three, I usually don't buy cribs. I never really used cribs. For some reason, cribs are expensive plus it is made of wood (most of them). We all know how hard wood is. It's a "no-no". When babies sta

The Journey of a Financial Advisor Part I

My journey as a Financial Advisor merely started because of a hunger to learn how to manage money. I guess everyone might agree with me, that even the rich people are sometimes lousy in managing their own finances. Even I, myself, is guilty of doing this. It's like, if you have money, the tendency is you want more. Shopping here, expenses overboard, buying that, buying these etc. I realized, that sometimes it would take someone or somebody to poke our head for us to realize that we need to have a goal, we have to be financially literate, to make money work for us and at the same time protecting our love ones. Not for us chasing money and make us work forever. Initially the case is we will work for the money (that's true) but eventually, as the time goes by, this must not always be the case. Our family, our kids, needs us.  We need to have more time for them, we need to have time for things that we would like to do, like traveling or chasing our passion. Instead of us workin

Spending time with kids

Snake and Ladder Game Board In the era of smartphones and latest technologies, including tablets and iPad , I thought board games has long been extinct. Like dinosaurs that you only see in movies. But yeah, I have to admit I was wrong. There was a sudden change on interest with my five-year-old kid. Usually she plays with barbie dolls, little plates and kettles made of plastics or watching Youtube video. But now she's asking Mr. Hubby to play with her. Which is good, in terms of family bonding and being in a real world. At first I thought it would not click! But hey, they are enjoying including my eldest daughter who also joined the game. They're both laughing when somebody's tower hit the head of the snake. For those who don't know. If you hit a snake head on this board game, you will be taken to the tail of the snake, which usually means you are at the loosing side. I guess I have to encourage more both my kids to play board games instead of watch

Chocolate Cookies from Marks & Spencer

Double Chocolate Cookies Chocolate Cookie, yahoo!!! The best things in life are free. This is one of the perks of being a blogger (wink). You've got to taste food for free at the same time, you enjoy the part of being a critic. This is not the first time, I tasted a cookie. I could say that I am not a cookie person. If you would ask me if I have a choice, whether it's a cookie or a cake. I will go for cake of course. But this time, I have a sudden change of heart. A heartylicious, mouth watering cookie, made even better with gooey and fudgee texture in your mouth. That makes it stand out, a soft cookie indeed, without removing the touch of conventional cookie crust at the outer layer. It is layered with tiny bits of gooey chocolates, that from the taste of it, you can tell, that the chocolates used are high end yet affordable. It will only cost you 50 pesos, for a cookie with a size of your palm. Not bad. Marks & Spencer Food are offering variety of cookies

Take a break!

Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut  Taking a break from work is important. It is as important as taking a shower everyday or twice a day. It helps us clear our minds and organize our thoughts. It's like resetting a machine to a brand new you, plus with fresher outlook. Like in my case, web development isn't an easy task. But to make things better we take breaks. But please don't "over break", bring an alarm clock (wink). Taking a break can be done in so many different ways, some prefer a smoke break, others do it by walking or talking to ot her people. But us, we want it this way. Here's a perfect break that you can't resist. Eating of course! Black Coffee Sweetness overload of Krispy Kreme Glazed Doughnut courtesy of our beloved Team Leader. Who wouldn't want a free doughnut? Combined with Black Coffee on the side. I preferred black coffee to neutralize the taste of Doughnuts sweetness but nevertheless I like it sweet. Lucky fo
