Storing fruits and vegetables

Storing fruits and vegetables is one of the biggest problem I had. As a busy mom, I usually buy fruits and vegetables once in a week. But after a few days, these veggies and fruits are already a waste of money. When the time that I want to cook them it's already rotten. How sad... and I end up cooking nothing but meat :(

So I came to research what are the best way to store fruits and veggies that could last longer. One golden rule is never store fruits and vegetable together. The acidity of the fruit makes the veggies rot faster.

  • Apple - Store them in the coolest part of the fridge.
  • Celery, carrots, and cabbage - pack them in plastic, some use foil but you have to consume it as soon as possible. And with carrots some cut the leafy part of it, cause that's the part that rot fast.  I tried cutting the carrots in cubes and putting them in the freezer, that should work for a week.
  • Eggplant - Usually I put them inside the fridge, but not now. You have to store eggplant in the coolest part of the kitchen. It usually last longer outside the fridge and under room temperature.
  • Grapes - You can use paper bag in the fridge. Usually last one to two weeks.
  • Lemons - You can store them in sealed plastic. They usually last longer than in room temperature.

This is a short list for now. Cause I don't have much time to write. Do you have any other way of storing your fruits and veggies? Please do share it with us.

Junk foods for you and for me

Most of us love eating junk foods especially the kids and my kid is one of them. Oh how she loved eating chocolate like me. Green & Black's Organic Chocolate Bar, 70% Cocoa, 3.5-Ounce Bars (Pack of 10) It is sad but true that most of our kids today have junk food on their diet. These foods are loaded with high calories, fats, and sugar, but very low in nutrition.

Globe DSL Promo Upgrade - Free Phone

After having some trouble using GLOBE DSL residential line. Finally, I was able to upgrade to micro business for the longest time, GLOBE is not allowing an upgrade from residential to micro business not unless your account is seven months old. Residential connection is fine if you are using maybe 2 to 3 devices, give that the plan is already 5Mbps. But I finally give up using the residential line since it cannot accommodate up to ten units of computer. GLOBE admittedly that there is a bandwidth cap size with their residential lines, which is really bad :( Let's see what will happen, I'm getting now 8.5Mbps max, hopefully pinging some IP address won't give me some request time out. I badly need internet connection now a days, though I'm no longer working at home, it is still a necessity for studying and side projects. I was using PLDT back then, but there are some issues that's unfix-able by PLDT alone. Though I must admit PLDT still has good bandwidth compar...

LONG DISTANCE love affair

It's pretty hard to keep any long distance relationship. One partner may feel insecure, cause he/she might not know what the other person is doing on the other side of the world.
